40TH BELGRADE FASHION WEEK// OCT 30, 2016 @ 10PM// CROWNE PLAZA
After winning The Gombold Ujra competition at MBFW Central Europe in Budapest, Sonja had the opportunity to show her collection ''0%'' at the 40th Belgrade Fashion Week and gain two prestige awards - ''The Boris Nikolic Award'' and ''The Harper's Bazaar Award''.
The idea behind ''0%'' was to eliminate fabric waste through pattern cutting, origami shapes and draped layering. This project explores the diversity of folding, pattern cutting and draping by developing a method that is aiming to reduce fabric waste to 0%. The lineup consists of a variation of unexpected shapes and patterns that are tightly linked to origami paper folding–the transformation of flat sheet of paper into a 3d shape without waste.
